About Our PTO
The Glenn York PTO organization is a nonprofit organization that was formed to help create, compliment and support the student body, teaching staff, administration and learning environment at Glenn York Elementary School in Alvin Independent School District. This is done by supporting teachers, staff and parents in their efforts to to develop well-rounded children.

Our mission is to positively influence the improvement and growth of our community (City of Pearland, Alvin ISD and Brazoria County) through supporting the education of young people, equipping educators, cooperating with administration, sharing volunteer opportunities with parents, and opening the door for outreach with community stakeholders. We believe that our parent teacher organization can accomplish our mission by prioritizing our efforts in parental engagement and outreach; increasing communication and coordination between parents, school staff and administration; encouraging, empowering and developing volunteer leadership.

I work in Oil & Gas in Project Management.
I enjoy being a part of the GYE PTO because it makes me feel like a part of the community. I like to give back and show my appreciation to such a great school including our teachers and staff. After all, they play a big part in my kids life, shaping them to be awesome!

I’m a Stay-At-Home Mom and regularly sub at the school.
I joined the PTO because I want to support my two kiddos and the staff of Glenn York. I think it’s important to be involved in our children’s education & our teachers! And I’ve enjoyed making a difference over the years for all the students at G.Y.E.!

I am a professor and Associate Department Chair in the College of Education at the University of Houston.
I am a former middle school teacher and high school principal. I have always believed in nurturing the relationship between school and families. I love participating in various activities to support the success of our students and teachers.

I am a Senior Project Manager in Commercial Construction.
I joined PTO so I could be more involved with my children, their school and their teachers. It is important to me that I know what is going on at their school and have a chance to help out when it is needed.

I am a Recruiter working in Clinical Research.
I joined the PTO to help support the teachers and staff, get to know the school better and help make it better, and to be involved.

I am a full-time Mental Health Therapist and Supervisor who owns a private practice. I
am also a wife, mother and friend to name a few roles in which I engage each day.
This will be my 4th year on the GYE PTO board. I thoroughly enjoy supporting our kiddos and the staff/teachers who care for and educate them. This is also a great way
to build relationships with other parents at
the school.

Nicole McLeod
I am a Pediatric Physical Therapist and own a small private practice here in Pearland.
I have been a part of the GYE PTO since 2016 and on the board serving various roles since 2017. I think being a part of the PTO has provided me with an even closer way to be a part of my child’s early education experience. PTO plays such a vital role in enhancing the school for the students & staff. This organization has allowed me to give back to the school, staff and community.

Davida Chatman
I am a registered nurse with 25 years of acute care pediatric experience. Additionally, I am a board member of the Texas Nursing Association, a graduate nurse mentor, and nurse faculty.
I find fulfillment in collaborating with other parents, teachers, and administrators to create positive experiences for everyone involved. Through my involvement with the PTO, I hope to contribute to the overall growth and success of our educational institution while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those around me.
